More info

The USS Enterprise CV-6 was the second Yorktown-class ship and entered service as the sixth aircraft carrier of the US Navy in 1938. In the Pacific War she was involved in 18 of 22 major naval operations. 15 times she was badly damaged, but the USS Enterprise kept returning to service, symbolizing the Navy's determination to achieve victory in the Pacific. In 1947 the USS Enterprise, affectionately known as the "Big E", was decommissioned and finally scrapped from 1958 to 1960. To this day she is the most decorated ship in the history of the US Navy. The TAMIYA model kit shows the famous aircraft carrier as it looked towards the end of World War II, including increased AA armament and Hellcat, Corsair, Avenger and Helldiver aircraft.
