Highly detailed model of the early build Freightliner series of class 57 locomotives, retaining many of the characteristic features of the original class 47 bodyshell. Heavy diecast chassis with a central skew wound motor provides plenty of power for this distinctive freight hauler.
A number of class 47 locomotives were overhauled by Brush for use by Freightliner. The locomotives were fitted with new EMD 12-cylinder 645 engines coupled with Brush alternators and traction motors. The completed locomotives were reclassified as class 57.
57003 Freightliner Evolution brings the added dimension of sound to the class 57 model with a DCC controlled sound system.
