Designed for heavy freight work, This type 5 locomotive has a Ruston-Paxman power unit developing 3,250 bhp (2,423 kW), and a Co-Co wheel arrangement.

Introduced between 1976 and 1983.

Compatible with analogue train layouts, but can easily be converted for use on a DCC (digital) layout.
